    Are permanent cosmetics safe?

Safety and comfort are of the utmost concern. Single use, sterile, disposable, individually wrapped tools are used. CDC requirements and universal precautions are applied.

    How is it performed?

Also called cosmetic tattooing, or permanent make-up, it is a procedure of artistically placing color into the dermal layer of the skin. Although permanent, aging and sun exposure will cause it to fade over time. For this reason, touch-up or refresher appointments may be desired to keep your makeup looking its best.

    Is it painful?

With the use of over-the-counter topical anesthetics specifically formulated for permanent cosmetics, the discomfort is greatly reduced - most describe it as slightly irritating.

How often will I need to redo it? Top

Your new permanent cosmetics will last a lifetime. Generally the lighter and more natural you have it, the more likely you will want to periodically freshen up the color. The darker and more dramatic, the less you will notice fading. The softening of color that is associated with tattoos is sometimes very desirable with cosmetics, and the muting is a nice look without ever touching it up. Hot sun climates will require touching up sooner compared to colder or rainy climates. You will want to avoid skin peeling products such as Retin-A or microderm abrasion directly on the tattooed areas.

*Remember to always use your sunscreen and good sun sense to help maintain your color.

How long does the procedure take? Top

The initial appointment usually takes 1-2 hours, the touch ups generally may be anywhere from a few minutes to an hour.

    What procedures are available? Top

EYEBROWS - that are too light, short, sparse or nonexistent are created to frame your face; they create lift and expression to your face.

EYELINER - enhances the shape of your eyes, or creates the illusion of larger, properly spaced eyes, and whether you choose natural lash enhancement, or darker, dramatic liner to bring out the color of your eyes, all eyes benefit from fuller-looking lashes, and more defined eyes.

LIP LINER/FULL LIP COLOR - corrects uneven lips, lips that are too thin, or too thick, scarred, or lacking in color. If you have trouble with your lipstick feathering, then this will correct that problem. It is also applied to enhance  a nicely shaped lip.

CAMOUFLAGE and AREOLA PIGMENTATION - are specialty procedures that help individuals with certain needs. It is used to soften, blend and minimize scars, or to create a nipple for breast reconstruction patients.

BEAUTY MARKS - just for fun!

What is the difference between the SofTap® method and machine method?

The SofTap® method of permanent cosmetics used by Donna is performed manually using a small hand-held non-electric implement. By applying pigments manually, the technician has complete control resulting in a very natural look. The SofTap® implements come pre-sterilized and are discarded in a Sharps biohazard container following every procedure. In all applications, regardless of the instrument used, the technician behind the tool is what makes the procedure successful.

Can I still wear traditional makeup over the permanent cosmetics?  Top

Permanent cosmetics are designed to enhance your natural beauty. Wearing additional cosmetics is a personal choice.

What if I change my hair color?  Top

Since all color choices are selected to harmonize with your skin tone and natural coloring, changing your hair color will not effect the look of properly applied permanent makeup.

What if I decide to have cosmetic surgery?  Top

There are no contraindications to permanent cosmetics either before or after plastic surgery. In fact, having permanent cosmetics done, especially brows, often gives the appearance of a mini face lift!
